RIPON, Wis (WRPN)- The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office got a report just after 2 pm Friday afternoon about a Canadian Pacific Train derailed in the Town of Lowell.

The train had a total of 95 cars, and 22 cars derailed between Maiden Lane Road and the Village of Reeseville. The train was carrying crude oil and no other substances. Some of the oil is believed to have leaked from the derailed cars, but there was no danger to the public.

No injuries were reported, and no evacuation was required. There is only one residence in that area and the resident chose to leave the area voluntarily while emergency crews worked the scene. The public was asked to stay out of the area during clean up.
