RIPON, Wis. (WRPN) – A Fond du Lac County jury deliberated for about three hours Friday night before finding a 16-year-old Fond du Lac boy guilty in the shooting death of Tatyanna Zech.
The jury found Parise Larry Jr. guilty of most of the charges stemming from the shooting at the Maplewood Commons Apartments in Fond du Lac on May 7, 2023.
According to the criminal complaint, Larry and then 17-year-old Antonio Johnston were confronting someone there and Zech, who was taking out garbage, was hit by gunfire. She died and several others were wounded in the gang-related shooting.
Larry was found guilty of first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree reckless injury, possessing a weapon under the age of 18, and multiple counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety. He was found not guilty of one count of injury by negligent use of a weapon. He will be sentenced on Dec. 19.
Last Jan. 31, Johnston pled guilty to eight different charges, including first-degree intentional homicide and attempted homicide. He’s awaiting sentencing.
