RIPON, Wis (WRPN)- No one was injured during a house fire in the town of Oakfield Saturday afternoon.
Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officials say deputies and the Oakfield Fire Department were sent to N3256 Highland Road at 2:21 p.m. When they arrived, smoke was coming from the south wall of the house. There was an active fire in the walls of the house.
The fire department quickly located the fire and extinguished it before it could spread to the rest of the home. The majority of the house was saved with damage limited to the south wall of the home.
The official cause of the blaze is unknown, but investigators believe it could have started from a pellet heater. Oakfield firefighters were assisted at the scene by fire departments from Brownville, Lomira, Waupun, and RIT Team 4, Oakfield First Responders, and Lifestar EMS.
