WAUTOMA, Wis (WAUH)- Authorities in Waushara County say a brush fire in the Redgranite area burned around 350 acres Sunday before local firefighting crews got it under control.
The area is mostly marshland. The DNR says high winds made fighting the fire difficult. The fire closed off State Highways 21 and 49, and other roads. Those highways reopened around 5 pm.
According to several posts on social media the fire was started by a four-wheeler unintentionally igniting brush. No injuries were reported, and no official cause was given.
