
RIPON, Wis (WRPN)- Green Lake County Sheriff Mark Podoll has announced his retirement. In a letter to community members Podoll says he will retire at the end of his current term which runs through January 4th of next year.
His law enforcement career spans 44 years the last 20 years as Green Lake County Sheriff. He says the support of the Green Lake County community over the course of his career has been incredible. He says he expects the support of the community to continue for the next generation of law enforcement, and he expects law enforcement to continue to strengthen that community bond.
Sheriff Podoll says it is time for a new chapter in his life. He also mentioned he has accomplished many goals. He says the most important of which was to build a Sheriff’s Office that was respected by the citizens of Green Lake County.
He also pledged to serve as Sheriff faithfully and diligently until his last day.
