RIPON, Wis (WRPN)- Ripon Mayor Ted Grant is seeking a fourth term in next month’s election. He feels the city has made considerable progress in his six years as Mayor and would like to be part of that moving forward.
He feels the city has been fiscally responsible and notes the city has been able to secure about $7 million in grants for major projects including road improvements, Selfridge Park, the Library and the Senior Activity Center.
He says they are fortunate to have experienced staff in leadership positions including the police chief who has 35 years of experience. Grant says he is aware taxes have gone up but they’ve been able to keep increases down to about 2 percent a year over the last five years. He also notes they’ve seen 37 new housing starts in the past year with 7 new starts this year and a 64-unit apartment development on the way.
Businessman John Sullivan is challenging him for Mayor in the April 7th election.
