RIPON, Wis (WRPN)- Two teens suffered minor injuries when they crashed in a ditch trying to get away from a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputy just before 4 am this morning.
The deputy tried to pull over a vehicle for speeding on County Highway N near Townline Road in the Town of Eldorado. The fleeing vehicle turned south onto Townline Road and accelerated to about 100 miles an hour. It then turned east onto Subway Road.
Shortly afterward, the deputy lost sight of the vehicle’s light then located the vehicle in a ditch. The driver, a 19-year-old Van Dyne man and passenger, a 16-year boy from Fond du Lac were both taken to St. Agnes Hospital.
Afterwards the driver was taken to the Fond du Lac County Jail. He is facing charges of fleeing an officer, first-degree recklessly endangering safety, and operation after revocation. The Fond du Lac teen was turned over to a parent. The chase covered approximately two miles.
